Sandwiched between An Evening With Fred Wilson and BarCamp Leeds {2008}, will be Leeds' first Girl Geek Dinner, hosted by nti's Linda Broughton and Girly Geekdom's Maz Hardey.

so what's a girl geek dinner anyway?

where can i register?

where will the dinner take place?

who'll be coming?

The evening will be informal, friendly and chilled. Enjoy a glass of wine, a lip-smacking buffet and the chance to hang out with the city's brightest creatives, technologists, programmers, entrepreneurs, marketeers, PR professionals and creative & digital girls (yes, we'll outnumber the boys!)

the evening's speakers will include...

lydia machell; a freelance music software developer with a background in arts and inventor of the Prima Vista Braille Music System. Inspired by early ringtone formulas, this transcribes standard print notation into Braille for blind musicians. When Lydia retires, she plans to write Knit One, Purl Nought - The Smart Girls' Guide to Being a Geek.

lorna mitchell; a developer, consultant and trainer for ibuildings in Leeds. Lorna's a PHP specialist, with a particular interest in databases and Subversion and background in Electronic engineering. Lorna's also deeply involved with the PHPWomen group, makes awesome circuitboard cakes and is really, really tall.
